At 9:45 pm on Sunday, October 17, Bonny the Border Collie was
reunited with her overjoyed owner and friends! The Miami man responsible for
Bonny’s disappearance realized his colossal error in judgment after reading
an article in the Miami Herald.
Bonny’s October 1st
disappearance from a Key West marina and the ensuing hunt for her abductor
is chronicled on a website dedicated to her recovery at
www.whereisbonny.com. The monumental search efforts of her owner
and friends reached a crescendo yesterday with a media blitz including a
whereisbonny.com banner flown through the skies of Miami-Dade county,
newspaper articles and coverage on major Miami television news networks. The
media’s interest in the story finally caught the attention of the man and
his family who were keeping Bonny as their new pet. At approximately 6:45 pm
yesterday, the man made contact through the Where Is Bonny Tips Hotline, and
arrangements were made to meet in Key Largo, the halfway point, where Bonny
was handed over.
The list of associations, organizations
and individuals across the state to whom a debt of gratitude is owed is too
long to list. A dog friendly welcome home and thank you party will be held
at Hurricane Hole Marina on Friday, October 22, starting at 5:00 pm. There
will be live entertainment and free beer and wine. All are welcome… bring
your dog.
