30th Annual Swim Around Key West
June 10th, 2006

All the forces of nature conspired against the participants in this years' Swim Around Key West! The Lazy Dog was the committee boat responsible for setting the mile mark buoys for relay changes, and for leading the front runners around an unfamiliar course. We then had to act as sweeper vessel which followed the course around from the beginning again and picked up all swimmers and kayakers who were defeated by the elements and could go no further.

Here's Marcos swimming around the back of Sigsby...
... support vessel provided by Sunset Watersports...

... and his finish at the Bertha Street ramp on Smathers Beach.
Here's the last swimmer to finish coming out of
Cow Key Channel into the Atlantic. He was the
third swimmer of a three person relay team ...
Jason was this team's support kayaker and he was in the water
for 9 1/2 hours... well done Jason... and well done to all
participants, both swimmers and kayakers!
