Lazy Dog Float...

Awarded: Parade Coordinator's "It's Never As Easy As It Looks" Award

Ye Olde Pirate Limerick

In days of olde, and pirates bold
With scabrous dogs abounding
We'd take our ships on plundering trips
Our cannon's roar resounding

Ye best beware if ye sail or dare
To brave these shores unsavory
From Caribbean coasts to Duval Street floats
Our treachery knows no boundary...

Savvy!

This was a huge three part float designed simply to carry as many people as possible. Zack Seemiller and his band returned for another round of parade debauchery and led a group of over 120 pirates in a raucous chorus of "What can you do with a drunken sailor" and other pirate ditties to the shock and amusement of the on looking crowd. As we watched the pirate ships bounce and sway to the beat of the music with the collective force of 120 dancing pirates, we thought the whole creation would eventually and inevitably come crashing down in pieces somewhere before the end of the parade route. Except for some torn sails, severed spars and snapped masts, It held together admirably.

it was at about this point that the pirates got a little out of hand and broke the camera...
