 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MOMMY, OMA AND GRAMIE! Look, I'm all ready to go on a trip. I've got my rake and my backpack! For mother's day, I'm going to show you all the pictures from my road trip to Boston.... |

||||
| Road Trip - Florida to Boston Massachusetts | ||||
 First we stopped in St Augustine, FL. and took the tour train. I'm sitting in a little antique school desk here that we saw in an old Drug Store. |
||||
  St. Augustine has lots of fountains! |
||||
   And lots of old streets to explore. |
||||
 ... fish ponds... |
||||
 ... an old fort... |
||||
   ... and after all that walking, some cold ice cream sure was good. |
||||
 |
||||
 |
 |

| I took a ride on a classic old Merry-go-round! | ||||
 And then we went to the beach. |
||||
 |

 |
 |

|
|
||||
 We drove through Georgia and stopped for a picnic in a wild flower preserve! |
||||

||||

  Later we stopped by the side of the road and I asked Daddy to buy me a tomato! |
||||
 I ate the whole thing! |

 That night we stayed at a campground, and in the morning I helped Daddy take the tent down... |
||||
 ... then we went for a little walk. |
||||
|
|
||||
 Our next stop was Tallulah Falls, Georgia! It's where my name comes from! |

 Walking down into the gorge means you have to climb back up. Daddy was tired, but we got to try out my new baby-carrier/backpack! |

 It worked good and I liked it. |

 When we left Tallulah Falls, we went to the little town of Helen for a late lunch. |
||||
|
|
||||
 |
 |
|||
|
Then we drove all the way to Boone NC where we stayed at our friends Rob
and Andi's house for a week. I liked their hammock! |
||||
 Daddy and Mommy bought me some new hiking boots, and Daddy waterproofed all our boots in preparation to go hiking. |
 Andi found some butterfly wings for me to wear! |
|||
 We went to Grandfather Mountain and hiked across another swinging bridge. |
 |
|||
 |
 |
|||
 And there was a zoo there where I saw a bear, and a mountain lion! |
||||
 Then we rested in the lodge where they had a rocking chair my size. |
||||
|
|
||||
  We went to a music festival called MerleFest where I got to hear some great Bluegrass music. Here I am hanging out with Andi. |
||||
  I saw Shana Banana and even got up to dance with her! |
||||
   Then Daddy painted my face... |
||||
  ... and then I fell asleep. |
||||
|
|
||||
 Our next adventure was a hiking/camping trip in the Grayson Highlands in Virginia |
||||
 There were lots of wild ponies there |
||||
 |
   |

 |
 |
 |
||

 |
||||
 Then we hung out at our campsite. |
||||
|

||||
 On another day, we hiked the balds north of Roan Mountain. |
||||
  Here's a trail blaze for the Appalachian Trail |
||||
 
 Daddy had to lace his boots up before we started. |
||||
  Here's where we stopped for lunch. That's Mommy and me in the picture with Rob and his dogs Deuce and Anodyne. |
||||

 When we got to the very top of the bald we were hiking on, there was snow there!  I like eating snow!  And as usual, I fell asleep on the way back down. |

 On the way home from Roan Mountain we stopped at a waterfall. |
||||

|

||||
 Daddy put some beads in my hair. |
||||
|
|
||||
 The last hike we did was on some of the trails that Rob works on. |
||||
  We did a nice five mile loop through the woods along a river. |
||||
  I fell asleep again. |
||||
|
|
||||
 On our way home we stopped at a trout farm! As usual, Mommy took all the pictures so she's not in any of them. |
||||
 
 First we scoped out the pond to see where the big fish were... then we picked a spot... |
||||
 ... wait Daddy, you forgot the net... |
||||
 Daddy showed me how to hold the fishing rod... hey, I think I've got a bite! |
||||
 I needed some help reeling it in... |
||||
 Robby got the net ready, and... wow! |
||||
 I caught my first fish! 4 1/4 pounds, a wopper! |
||||
 ... and that's all the fish tales I have for you today! |
||||
