Okay, I finally figured out how to use this computer keyboard. It's not ergonomically designed for a puppy's nose and paws, you know.

Wow, where do I start... I was born during hurricane Dennis, and had the pleasure of meeting Katrina, Rita and Wilma over the following three months. Where's all the wind? Things are so quiet around here these days.

Dad started teaching me things the day I came home. I never chew anything in the house, except for this one corner of my favorite carpet that I can't resist, and Dad can't seem to catch me in the act to scold me. I have a bunch of toys that I can chew, and Bonny, my Nanny, has taught me how to really dig my teeth in and destroy them. Dad doesn't really buy the stuffed animal type of toys for us anymore.

Bonny has been teaching me all sorts of other things too that drive Dad crazy. She taught me how to bark at things even if they don't frighten me. I love barking at small children cause sometimes it makes them cry. Dad keeps saying he's gonna train me so well that eventually I'll be able to teach Bonny how to be a well behaved dog, but I'm not so sure she's bright enough for that.

I love playing fetch. Bonny doesn't really get that game. My favorite is a tennis ball, but I'll bring back just about anything you throw for me. I can catch a Frisbee, but I'm still a little too small and it's awkward to carry.

Dad taught me how to swim the first week I was home. He did it by throwing little pebbles in the water until I was all the way in swimming without even realizing it. Now I'll chase a tennis ball through crashing waves or out into deep water far from shore. That makes Dad a little nervous cause he says there are sharks where we swim sometimes.

Dad just got a new bike cause he said I'm too big to get enough exercise just going for walks anymore. I love running down the middle of the road where there's lots of room, but Dad is pretty insistent that I stay on his right side at all times. I'm getting pretty good at it, but sometimes when I'm running down the sidewalk and my dad's on the road we'll pass a house with a big dog in the yard, or sometimes several big dogs, or even a couple of small noisy dogs, and I don't realize that they're there until they're like two inches from my face on the other side of a fence when they go into a berserk barking fit and it kind of freaks me out.

My Brother Tucker went back to California this week. We had a great time playing with each other every day for the last two months cause he stayed right next door. I still get to see my sisters Banyan and Sake at Hurricane Hole Marina, but I'll really miss Tucker. He's been lazy about adding to his blog too. I bet I can write more frequently than he can. He's like five or ten pounds lighter than me cause his dad feeds him Miller Lite and I get Guinness. He's probably a little smarter than Bonny but not much. I wonder what he's gonna write when he reads this.

Well that's about all my little puppy brain can handle today. I'll write some more soon. ~ G

Brrrr... it's like 62° F this morning. That's freezing in Key West... but this cold weather gets me all wound up! I'm bouncing off the walls here. Molly's been spending the days with us cause Sue and Robyn went to see their family for Christmas and they had to fly in an airplane and Gabby's watching Molly but has to do kayak tours for Mosquito Coast and I guess Molly's getting a little too old to go kayaking or something. Molly won't play with me like Bonny will. She has two speeds: on and off. She's either sleeping or dropping a stick or a leaf or a toy or something at someone's feet and then barking at it. Then when I do play with Bonny or any other dog she just barks at us and tries to hump one of us... she really is kind of a freak. I wonder what she's gonna write when she reads this? ~ G

Merry Christmas everyone! Wow, my first Christmas. There was a big sock on the wall that had all sorts of cool things in it for me. Bonny and I both got a doggie lollie made from dog biscuit that smelled like gingerbread or something. Anyway it was good and when Bonny wasn't looking I ate hers too. Then Dad dumped a bunch of tennis balls out of my stocking. Tennis Balls!! Bonny got a bunch of other stuff too, but I didn't care anymore cause I got Tennis Balls!! Have a great day everyone! ~ G

I just overheard my dad on the phone with Sue. They have to go to the Conch Republic Seafood Company to pick up a kayak. Actually the bar/restaurant is right on the boardwalk by where the Sunny Days Fort Jefferson Ferry ties up and that's who he has to pick up the kayak from cause some campers rented one from us, but I think it's really just an excuse to go have an adult cocktail together. Anyway, it means I get to have a little taste of Guinness if I'm really good. ~ G

Happy New Year everyone! Last night my dad turned on the television and turned the volume up very loud and then closed all the windows and doors and even put some pillows in front of a couple of windows and then he and Fiona went out and left me and Bonny at home. I was surprised cause Dad almost never leaves me at home, and then after awhile there were these loud noises that I could hear even through the pillows and windows and television volume and it sounded like pirate cannons were attacking the Island. Bonny hid under a table and acted frightened, but the noise didn't bother me, I just laid close to her with my ears perked up alert ready to protect her and the house if the pirates came too close but they didn't. Then my dad must have defeated the pirates cause he and Fiona came home and I was very happy to see them both. ~ G

I just overheard my dad on the phone. He's needed at the kayak company to help with a kayak trip. That means I get to go kayaking again! I got to go a couple of days ago, and when it was real shallow I jumped in and out of the kayak a few times just for fun and got dad really wet and then on the way home I shivered a little but that's okay cause I still love to go kayaking whenever I get the chance and everyone on the trip oohs and aahs over me and says I'm cute or pretty and Dad tells them I'm a little boy and they should tell me I'm handsome. ~ G

Okay, so we're kayaking right... and this kid yells "look at the shark, look at the shark!" and there's this little nurse shark swimming by his kayak and everyone tries to look and see it, and my dad paddles around everyone to corral it back towards the tour group so everyone can see... and the shark swims up along side our kayak and my dad reaches into the water and grabs it behind the head and lifts it up to show everyone! He picked it up, a shark, with his hands and held it right over my head! Well I wasn't too crazy about that and I crawled from our kayak over to a lady in a kayak that had pulled up beside us cause I wanted to get as far away from that nurse shark as possible!

In reference to Kodiak's blog entry from January 4th and 5th...
I might be young and inexperienced in the ways of the world, but my dad taught me the difference between snow and crows. Molly may be old and deaf, but she’s not dumb… she’s a Border Collie! The only conclusion that I can come to is that she’s making a joke on Kodiak because he’s a Beagle and definitely a knucklehead. I bet he can’t even read this. ~ G

Dad was working on the computer all weekend. He's almost finished with the new Lazy Dog Board Room design. It's a pretty cool design and I'm in it! Tucker and Bonny and Molly and Camillo are also in it. Dad and I still had time to ride the bike around town so I could get some exercise and burn off some of my abundant puppy energy.

I've decided to take a survey. I want to find out how many people are reading my Blog. If you read this then send me an email with a special password by clicking here and I'll send you a free surprise gift in the mail. Just include your real snail mail planet earth mailing address in the email. ~ G

Hey Molly, what the heck is St. Olaf?? I'm young and learning new things all the time but I've never heard of this St. Olaf. I don't know if she can hear me... Tucker, do you know what it is? Kodiak? Anyone? ~ G

My Grandparents are in town visiting. This is the first time I have met them and they are very nice to me. They are helping my dad and mom pack up all the things in the house so we can move to another house while this one gets renovated or something. Last night after my grandparents went home and Mom went to bed, Dad went next door to Tim and Betty's house and hung out and talked to them while I sat in the front yard and played in the grass. It's one of my favorite spots and last night I found a stick to chew on and it was so good that I actually ate all the little pieces that I chewed off and then in the middle of the night I started to feel a little funny and my stomach was making strange noises and then I let out a burp that sounded like a human burp and woke everyone up and then I yakked up a bunch of wood that didn't taste so good anymore. ~ G

Hey Kodiak, Mr. Beagle Brain, a crow is a big white bird with long legs and a long neck and long beak that flies around the place carrying a bundle with a little baby inside. How do you think we got here? I hear there's gonna be a couple of them flying around our neighborhood soon too.

Speaking of big brains, check out this guy in the featured photo on the Lazy Dog Adventure Club's photo gallery! ~ G

As you can see, Molly stayed with us last weekend. She's pretty obsessed with playing Frisbee (or tennis ball, stick, leaf, matchstick...) My dad's not very good at throwing a Frisbee cause it kept going over the fence into the neighbors yard so he just threw us the tennis ball after awhile. Molly runs away and crouches down low and waits for the throw, then I have to take it from her and bring it back to Dad. I guess it's kinda like teamwork.

This weekend we moved into a new house with lots of new noises that I like to bark at. This seems to make my dad a little crazy cause he says we live with other people now who might not be as tolerant as he is even though I don't think he's very tolerant at all or it might be that I don't just bark at noises during the day but at all hours of the night but I can't help it cause when I hear something strange it scares me and I bark when I'm nervous. ~ G

Yo Tucker. My dad said we’re going for a very special visit to the Marathon Veterinary Hospital on February 7th and that I’m supposed to tell you so your dad will do the same for you on the same day. Sounds very mysterious and important… wooo. Don’t worry, it’s no big deal, the people at the Vet are always really nice to me. The worst they do is stick a little pin in my tough skin or poke something in my butt for a minute, like oooh, I’m scared, right. I mean what’s the worst that could happen? ~ G

Kodiak, what are you talking about... cojones? My two best friends are... well let me see there's Bonny, Molly, Tucker... well you're one of my best friends too, and there's Slugger who lives around the corner... but that's way more than two. You're outa your mind, sniffin' too many buffo frogs probably... I'm not runnin' for the hills, you run for the hills, that's what you're good at if someone's crazy enough to chase you. Does anyone else know what he's talking about..? Molly? Shorty? Riley? ~ G

Thursday, January 26, 2006
Yeah, Tucker... my dad showed me that boat down in the harbor. It's called the C.O. Jones. I guess that's what Kodiak is talking about but he never makes any sense. ~ G

Tuesday, January 31, 2006
Tucker... I think Kodiak is losing his marbles... I asked wise old Molly what cojones was and she told me...
1 : with : together : joint : jointly
2 : in or to the same degree
3 a : one that is associated in an action with another
b : having a usually lesser share in duty or responsibility
4 : of, relating to, or constituting the complement of an angle.
She's so smart... ~ G

So I'm hangin' out in the living room watching some big dog bowl of a football game on TV tonight... and usually just when I've really gotten my teeth into that itchy spot on my back, or when I've really got a good rhythm goin' with the tongue between the legs, my dad will yell, "Stop!" or "Manners!" or "For god's sake leave it alone!" but tonight he kept sayin' "Lick 'em while you got 'em..."  Sometimes I have no idea what he's talking about. ~ G

Tuesday February 7, 2006
Wha... what happened... why is there a big plastic cone on my head? My mouth is dry... ow I'm sore but... can't... reach... to lick. Ichy... ICH OW!... can't lick... why am I groggy?

Home now... feel better after sleeping in the car. Big plastic cone keeps getting caught on things... hard to walk. Dad's being super nice to me. Everyone at the vet was super nice to me also but I was a little freaked out while my dad wasn't around.

Dad doesn't want me to play with Bonny and he won't play fetch with me. I guess you're right Tucker... cojones = tennis balls. I can't play with tennis balls when there's a big plastic cone on my head. I hope I don't have to wear it for long... I think I heard Dad say something about a week, what a drag. ~ G

Friday, February 10, 2006
Hey Tucker, Dad finally took the big plastic cone off my head and you'll never believe this but I think some sneaky rotten squirrel stole my acorns while I wasn't looking. ~ G

Saturday, February 11, 2006
Or maybe Kodiak stole them... I heard he likes to bury things under his house... ~ G

Sunday, February 12, 2006
Or maybe it was Shorty, he looks a little like a squirrel... ~ G

Friday, February 17, 2006
Kodiak, you're not making sense again, what do my acorns and cojones have in common... and what club? ...wait a minute... "Lick 'em while you got 'em..." Hey, Tucker I don't think our visit to the vet had anything to do with tennis balls... or I mean cojones aren't tennis balls, and I've never seen a squirrel in Key West either. I've heard my dad talking about doing what's best for me and doing it at a young age so I don't have a personality crisis or something. I know he loves me and will always do what's best for me. This might be a lame conclusion to this little episode of my life... but what do you expect, I'm a dog, and that's what we do... we love our masters unconditionally. ~ G

Yesterday my dad played in a golf tournament with Molly's mom, Kodiak's dad and another nice lady. I got to go with them for the whole tournament even though I don't think I was really supposed to but the other nice lady happened to be the daughter of the owner of the golf course and dad likes to stretch the rules when it comes to where dogs are allowed and he says you can get away with a lot more if you follow the rule that it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. I was very well behaved and sat in the cart when I was told and only ran onto the green a couple of times. I've never seen so much grass in my life. I don't think we won anything but after the game was over everyone was fed a steak dinner and dad doesn't usually put me on a leash, but he had to put his belt around my collar because people kept trying to give me steak..
In the afternoon we went to work at the Outfitter Store and at the end of the day there was this big dog named Jax at the marina. He's an Anatolian Shepherd (also see this AKC link and this ASDCA link) and I knew him when he was smaller, but now he's really big and I growled and snapped at him a little and it made my dad cross and he had to put me in time out. ~ G

This week I met some really nice people that went out fishing on our boat with Capt Ryan. They told me they had a great day and caught lot's of fish. A big shout out to my friends in MICHIGAN! ps. email me some pics from your trip.

Today was fun. I spent the whole day at the Key West Boat Show and met lots of friendly people and a bunch of cool dogs too. This one dog, I think his name was Jake, we chased each other around on a boat ramp, in and out of the water and rolled around in big piles of seaweed. Then dad hosed me off and I chased the spray from the hose around for the first time ever, just like Camillo the original Lazy Dog used to (so I'm told) ~ G

Wednesday, March 15, 2006
I got a nice email back from Mike and Lolene from Michigan who went fishing with Capt Ryan. They sent some cool photo's from their trip and one of Boo-Boo and Jake who like kayaking too.

Last Saturday, we played in a softball tournament that lasted all day. In between games I got to chase softballs on the field. I don't think we did very well cause there were a lot of games after our last one was over. Then we stayed up till two thirty in the morning playing darts at Don's Place and Dad kept saying he wished Richie and Tucker were there. Then on Sunday we didn't get out of bed until like noon. Dad spent the next two days looking for his wallet and his cell phone. I wonder he'll be mad that I told everybody this?

Wow, the weeks really fly by! This week Dad ran me over with his bike. I get really excited when we go bike riding and we do it all the time cause Dad's truck got lost in Hurricane Wilma and it hasn't been replaced yet. I was running next to the bike and biting at Dad's foot while he kept yelling, "Stop!" and I didn't see the fire hydrant and I almost ran into it but jumped out in front of the bike instead and Dad hit the brakes and me and almost flipped over his handlebars. It didn't hurt real bad and I still ran home but then later I was really stiff and I limped for two whole days. Dad said we're getting our new truck next week. I'm really excited.
Have you seen pictures of the famous dog Pecorino? He's famous all over Europe and has his own online gallery. He has books of photos of him too. Tucker and I will be that famous one of these days! ~ G

Thursday, March 23, 2006
Today I spent almost the whole day at my old house which is a big construction site right now. Dad and some workers were "shooting the pool." That means they put the concrete in for the new pool in our backyard, and now it really looks like a pool, and there's a shallow area for me to hang out too. Dad says it's the Beach area, or dog pool, or baby pool. I got a little muddy.
~ G

PS sorry, Kodiak, no ducks...

Friday, March 24, 2006
I got an email from Pecorino and Toni Anzenberger! Wow! They're celebrities! Pecorino is like a European Supermodel! They thanked me for putting a link to their gallery and also said that I was very handsome. Thanks Pecorino and Toni, I'm very flattered! Hmmm... maybe I have a future as a model too...

Last week Sue was out of town so Dad and I drove the van that picks up kayakers from the cruise ships. We were very busy and worked very hard and I got to meet lots of dog lovers who wanted me to sit on their laps in the van. Then Dad picked our new truck on Wednesday... it's a Silverado and has a sun-roof and lots of other cool things. He says it's our truck 'cause dogs love trucks! Mom's tummy keeps getting bigger... Dad says our lives are going to change soon...

A Baby! A Baby! Mom and Dad brought home a baby girl named Tallulah! Wow, what a week! First me and Bonny got left at home alone for two nights... I was very unsettled and didn't know what was going on. Dad came home for a little while each day, and finally on the third night he came home real late and slept there for just a couple of hours. Then on Sunday Mom came home with Dad and they had a little miniature person with them! Me and Bonny aren't allowed on the bed anymore...

So myspace.com is making big news all over the place. It seems to be all the rage with everyone from young kids (over 18 of course... yeah right) to young adults, professionals and old geezers. Well what they didn't tell you on the news is that there's a secret canine cyber society (SCCS) that has infiltrated the myspace cyberworld! I humbly claim some responsibility in the promotion and propagation of this underground muttly movement. Okay, when I got there I found a pre-existing  population of dogs communicating via internet, but I have attempted to rally them... gather them to me if you will and keep our motives true and pure. Okay, that's a bunch of crap too... I have tried to invite as many celebrity friends to my space as I can... okay that's our MO... dogs and celebrities! So if you have any interest in what I've been rambling on about, visit my page at myspace. ~G

My brother Tucker is back in Key West! We were both pretty overjoyed to see each other! I've been all over the place since my last blog entry... Miami three times, sleeping in hotel rooms... me and Dad got thrown out of this one Hotel and told not to come back cause I snuck into the breakfast area... the manager wasn't a very reasonable person and he and my dad exchanged some words. In Opa Locka at Tropical Embroidery, there's this girl named Nay who I freak out every time I visit there... oh and another lady there that I like to bark at and terrify her!

My grandparents were here for a visit but they were alot more interested in Tallulah than in me! We got a bunch more new shirts in the store too so check it out... ~G

I'm keeping my eye's open for Lazy Daisy's mom this week. She's gonna be in Key West visiting.

It's great having my brother here! We tear it up almost every day! There'll be lot's of pictures of us all over the web site soon. ~G

Wow so much has happened since my last entry! I spent the whole day at Key West harbor on Memorial Day while my dad participated in the Minimal Regatta. I wanted to get in the boat with Dad, but in the end I watched the race with my brother Tucker.

Just this past weekend I spent the whole day on the water while we monitored the annual Swim Around Key West. It was really rough on the water, and at first I was a little scared, but by the end of the day I was all the way up standing on the bow striking a heroic pose with my nose in the wind! Someone send Tucker an email and tell the lazy mutt to make a blog entry! ~G
