Professional Kiteboarder Paul Menta announces partnership with Lazy Dog Island Outfitters & Outdoor Adventure Company

Key West, Fl - Menta will officially be wearing Lazy Dog Island Outfitters clothing in all of his promotions and kiteboarding adventures.

Key West’s own Lazy Dog Island Outfitters & Outdoor Adventure Company gets ultimate exposure with extreme kiting guru Paul Menta, as Menta announced Lazy Dog as his official clothing sponsor in mid May. In this role Menta will wear the local designs inspired by the true story of co-owner David Richard’s original Lazy Dog. This partnership between Menta and Lazy Dog will serve all interests involved, by promoting the shared ideals of a clothing line and sport that are both on the rise.

Lazy Dog Island Outfitters & Outdoor Adventure Company is run by a group of young entrepreneurs who met years ago and share a love of dogs. The business offers everything from kayak and boating trips to a creative and popular clothing line featuring their canine friends. Spearheaded by both Sue Cooper and David Richard, the clothing line has sky rocketed in the past year, growing by 200% and expanding rapidly throughout the United States. The Lazy Dog team has many crazy adventure credits to its name, including the Fantasy Fest Float Winner of 2005, Paddle Around Key West Race, hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, sailing 16 ft Hobie Cats from Key West to Cuba, paddling kayaks in 70 miles of open water from Key West to the Dry Tortugas, and dozens of road races, marathons and triathlons. Their lives are true to their business name – “adventure.”

“Paul is a great guy and a fantastic kiteboarder”, says Cooper. “We are honored that we get to work together, especially since he represents what Lazy Dog is all about. Like I’ve said before, ‘There’s a lazy dog in everyone!’”

Considered a guru and pioneer in the world of kiteboarding, Paul Menta has as many scars as credentials to show for it. He has twice traveled around the world and managed to break the World Record Distance Run kiting from Key West to Cuba. Menta is a Master Instructor for PASA, writer and advisor for several kiteboarding magazines, producer of kiteboarding events and competitions and can also be found showcasing the sport of kiteboarding as a narrator and personality in the Telly Award Winning movie Into the Air: A Kiteboarding Experience. Menta also owns The Kite House, a kiteboarding school he established for all skill levels, located in the Bahamas, Key West, Miami, and Turks and Caicos.

Key West has affectionately welcomed Menta throughout his 15 year tenure on the island. He has been a big supporter of local businesses, especially those companies, like Lazy Dog, that contribute to the community at large. “As a boarder who lives in Key West, it is great to find a company that highlights the growing interest in watersports, especially kiteboarding since it’s still in its infancy. And I’m happy to have found a local company to work with that views their company as a lifestyle, rather than just another brand,” Menta noted after a photo shoot with Lazy Dog this past Memorial Day.
